Teeth Resizing: Frequently Asked Questions
Cosmetic Dentist Serving San Jose, Sunnyvale and the Bay Area
My teeth are too small (big) for my face. How can I make them look bigger?
People are often born with teeth that are either too big or too small for their bodies and faces. The teeth are usually covered with porcelain to change the size, position, color, and shape.
My teeth are very small and there are spaces between them. If the teeth are made larger to close the spaces, they will be too big. What can I do?
Tooth size issues are often corrected with a combination of orthodontics (braces) and porcelain veneers or crowns. The teeth are moved into a better position first and then covered with porcelain.
How much tooth structure is removed to change the size of my teeth?
Very small teeth may need little or no removal of tooth structure. Large teeth require more tooth structure removal in addition to contour and color illusions built into the porcelain by the ceramist.
