Digital Radiographs: We utilize the latest technology in digital imaging to diagnose dental disease. Digital radiographs eliminate 90 percent of the radiation associated with traditional film dental radiographs. Digital panoramic radiographs maybe used to evaluate craniofacial disorders and tooth development in young patients. We also utilize 3-Dimentional CT radiographs from our ICAT® CT scanner when developing advanced treatment plans for patients in need of advanced oral rehabilitation. These radiographs are instantly available on a computer screen so that you can see what we see when evaluating your dental condition.
Head and Neck Oral Cancer Screening: In addition to screening for dental disease and periodontal (gum) disease, you will receive a thorough cancer screening of your head, neck, oral hard and soft tissues, and lymph nodes.
TMJ and Orthodontic Evaluation: A part of our comprehensive examination is an evaluation of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and the surrounding muscles and ligaments. We will also evaluate your bite, the position of your teeth, and any developmental abnormalities that may be present with your teeth or jaws. In young children, this will include a developmental analysis of the primary (“baby”) teeth and eruption patterns of the permanent teeth.
Visual and Intra-Oral Camera Exam: The latest in intra-oral photography technology helps us document and communicate the current condition of your mouth. Pictures of your teeth will be used to describe how we can improve your dental condition.
Periodontal Evaluation: The condition of your gums is one of the most important parts of oral health. The gums and surrounding bone of your jaws is the foundation for your teeth. If this foundation is not healthy, the consequences can go far beyond tooth loss. There is a strong link between gum disease and heart disease, diabetes, and overall health.
